Callison Tighe’s Tighe rated among the Legal Elite in the Midlands

Michael W. Tighe, managing member of Callison Tighe & Robinson, has been named to Greater Columbia Business Monthly’s 2010 Legal Elite.

The distinction came after the publication asked lawyers who live and work in the Midlands to vote on their peers in eight practice areas. The voting narrowed the field of 250 nominees Top 10 in each category. Tighe was selected in real estate law.

A native of South Carolina, Tighe graduated from the University of South Carolina, magna cum laude with a degree in English. After graduating from the University of South Carolina School of Law, he was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the United States Air Force.

While in law school, he was admitted to Phi Beta Kappa, served as editor-in-chief of the South Carolina Law Review, and Chief Justice of the Order of Wig and Robe. He was first in his law school class and its youngest member. Following graduation, Mike was named law clerk to Chief Judge Clement F. Haynsworth, Jr., U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

In addition to real estate, Tighe’s practice areas are business and commercial litigation; condemnation/eminent domain and takings; real estate litigation; and title insurance litigation.
