Callison Tighe welcomes associate Forest O’Brien
COLUMBIA, SC – Callison Tighe is pleased to welcome attorney Forest O’Brien to the firm. With a background in accounting and tax-related internships during law school, he will focus his practice on corporate and business law, estate planning and probate matters, tax law, and personal asset protection. He has passed all components of the Uniform Certified Public Accountant exam and will pursue his South Carolina CPA license in order to better serve clients.
Mr. O’Brien graduated cum laude from Elon University School of Law in North Carolina. He was part of the Business Fellows scholarship program and finished in the top 15 percent of his class.
He served tax-related internships and externships while in law school, including a summer as an international tax intern in an international accounting and consulting firm’s Raleigh, NC, office. He also was a legal extern in the Greensboro, NC, Internal Revenue Service Office of the Chief Counsel. In that role, he assisted with trial preparation, drafted legal reviews and conducted legal research. He worked with the agency’s small business/self-employed division.
Additionally, Mr. O’Brien worked full-time for almost a year as a risk assurance association with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) prior to attending law school.
Mr. O’Brien holds a master’s in accountancy and data analytics from the University of Mississippi. His bachelor’s degree in accounting is from the University of South Carolina Darla Moore School of Business, where he earned dean’s list or president’s list honors nearly every semester.
