Institute designates attorney Weatherly as Certified Exit Planning Advisor

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Alex Weatherly has been designated a Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA) by the Exit Planning Institute.

He received the recognition after completing the Institute’s intensive executive MBA-style program. The CEPA program is described as the most widely accepted and endorsed professional exit-planning program in the world.

Mr. Weatherly has three decades of experience helping business owners create and implement strategies to grow, preserve and protect the value of their business interests  while also preparing  for the ultimate disposition of their business interests in connection with a comprehensive financial, estate and retirement plan. He represents clients who foresee a range of financial challenges, including trust creation and implementation and other estate planning matters.

He has assisted with will and probate issues, including matters involving high-value estates. He has taught numerous Continuing Legal Education programs on estate and tax planning for attorneys and certified public accountants.

The CEPA program was designed for business advisers who work closely with owners of privately held companies. The organizing principle of the program is Master Planning, the alignment of the “three legs of the stool essential to all successful business exits – (business, personal, financial).” The program includes a combination of lectures, group discussions, case studies and individual exercises to introduce participants to these concepts and to reinforce skills.

The Exit Planning Institute delivers interactive education and training, performance-enhancing resources, and strategic tools designed to enhance the exit-planning profession. Formed in 2005 to serve the educational and resource needs of wealth managers, financial planners, accountants, management consultants, attorneys, M&A advisers, commercial lenders, and other business advisers, the Institute is considered the standard trendsetter in the field of business exit planning.
