Tighe honored as a Columbia Lawyer of the Year
COLUMBIA, SC – Michael W. Tighe, a founding partner at Callison Tighe & Robinson, is honored as a Columbia “Lawyer of the Year” in the just-released 2020 edition of Best Lawyers in America.
He’s recognized for his work in Litigation – Real Estate. It’s his fourth Columbia “Lawyer of the Year” award from Best Lawyers in America. He’s been listed in every edition of Best Lawyers in America since 2012.
“It’s always great to be recognized by your peers but to be honored four times with this top award speaks volumes about skill and leadership we see from Mike every day,” Callison Tighe partner Rick Detwiler said.
Tighe has represented clients in real estate cases in all levels of state and federal courts in South Carolina since 1971, often representing lenders and major developers. Other attorneys often call him as an expert witness in their real estate cases. His trial work also includes representing title insurance companies and their insureds.
Tighe, who’s practiced law for more than 50 years, also is a certified mediator and arbitrator.
The 2020 edition of Best Lawyers in America marks the sixth consecutive time a Callison Tighe attorney has won Columbia “Lawyer of the Year” honors. In addition to Tighe, past recipients include Wm. Bert Brannon and Louis H. Lang.
Overall, 11 attorneys at Callison Tighe earned a total of 25 Best Lawyer honors. Many, including Tighe, are recognized in multiple practice areas.
