Three Callison Tighe partners named to Super Lawyers for 2020
COLUMBIA, S.C. – Three partners at the Callison Tighe – Wm. Bert Brannon, Demetri “Jim” Koutrakos and Michael W. Tighe – have been named yet again as 2020 South Carolina Super Lawyers®.
Michael Tighe, listed in real estate law, is a certified mediator and arbitrator and experienced litigator. He has represented title insurers and their insureds, as well as lenders and major developers, in real estate-related litigation in state and federal courts in South Carolina, and in transactional matters since 1971. His peers often call him to testify as an expert witness on real estate and title insurance related issues.
Jim Koutrakos, listed for business litigation, focuses on litigating and resolving all types of real property disputes. Title insurance companies frequently hire him to represent their insured lenders and owners in complex real property issues. He is often asked to provide coverage opinions to title insurance companies as well. Jim’s practice also includes commercial collections, title claims, general commercial litigation, and appeals.
Bert Brannon, listed for his practice in the area of estate planning and probate law, helps clients make sure they have a solid foundation, a clear direction and a plan for keeping their families’ futures secure. In addition to estate and business succession planning, his practice includes probate and trust administration; choice of entity planning; taxation of estates and trusts and business entities; and corporate law.
Brannon has been named to Super Lawyers every year since 2010; Koutrakos since 2016, and Tighe since 2012.
