Rick Detwiler voted into the American Board of Trial Advocates
COLUMBIA, S.C. – Richard C. Detwiler, the managing member of Callison Tighe & Robinson law firm, is one of the newest members of the American Board of Trial Advocates.
Rick was elected to membership by the National Board of Directors of ABOTA at the organization’s national board meeting in Little Rock, Ark., on Oct. 7. He is one of only seven new members from South Carolina. “Your election to ABOTA membership further evidences your high personal character, honorable reputation, and proficiency as a trial lawyer,” said Steven W. Quattlebaum, ABOTA 2023 National President.
ABOTA is a national invitation-only association of experienced trial lawyers and judges, dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the civil jury trial right provided by the Seventh Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. It consists of more than 7,300 lawyers — equally balanced between plaintiff and defense — and judges, spread among 96 chapters in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
Rick Detwiler has been a trial lawyer for over 35 years. He has earned Martindale-Hubbell’s highest Peer Review Rating of “AV Preeminent.” Mr. Detwiler has been recognized by South Carolina Super Lawyers, The Best Lawyers in America, and by Legal Elite of the Midlands. He has tried more than 100 cases to verdict, including jury and non-jury disputes, and has navigated settlements for clients in hundreds of other cases.
