Best Lawyers chooses Reece Williams and Louis Lang as Lawyers of the Year
COLUMBIA, S.C. – Two Callison Tighe attorneys have been named Lawyers of the Year for the Columbia area in their respective practice areas in the 2021 edition of The Best Lawyers in America©:
- Reece Williams is Lawyer of the Year in the area of Litigation-Real Estate.
- Louis Lang is Lawyer of the Year in Litigation-Banking and Finance.

A veteran litigator who is often called upon to teach advocacy skills to others, Mr. Williams focuses his practice at Callison Tighe on trial work. His experience includes personal injury, professional liability, commercial and government litigation. He’s tried numerous cases resulting in verdicts in excess of a million dollars. He is also a certified mediator and arbitrator.
As an instructor, Mr. Williams has appeared in more than 60 trial demonstrations in more than 30 states. He’s also taught at the National Trial Academy of the National Judicial College in Reno, Nevada. He has been guest speaker at the University of South Carolina School of Law and the Charleston School of law.
Mr. Lang concentrates his practice on litigation, principally title insurance claims litigation. He has handled numerous title insurance-related cases — jury and non-jury cases and appeals in state and federal courts. He has vast experience in a variety of cases, including complex title-related issues, coverage questions and bad faith claims asserted directly against title insurance companies.
He also handles other business and commercial litigation and federal criminal defense.
