Callison Tighe welcomes Matthew Jepertinger as an associate
COLUMBIA, SC – Matthew L. Jepertinger has joined Callison Tighe & Robinson as an associate.
A graduate of the University of South Carolina, he will primarily be involved in civil trial work, including representing clients in medical malpractice and personal injury cases, business torts and workers’ compensation cases.
Mr. Jepertinger brings medical experience and training to his practice. Before attending law school he worked as a Registered Nurse in an intensive care unit of a South Carolina hospital, where he worked with critically ill patients who were in need of immediate surgical intervention.
He first came to Callison Tighe more than a year ago, working as a law clerk as he completed his Juris Doctor. His duties included drafting motions, complaints, affidavits and other legal documents as he assisted the firm’s attorneys with trial preparation. He also conducted legal research.
Additionally, Mr. Jepertinger honed his legal skills while serving as a summer associate at two other South Carolina law firms, where he interviewed clients, drafted complaints, briefs and memoranda on a range of topics that included real estate litigation and healthcare fraud.
He earned Dean’s List honors multiple semesters at the University of South Carolina School of Law and received the prestigious CALI Award for Trial Advocacy. Those honors go to law students who earn the highest score in a class.
His other law school activities included membership in the Moot Court Bar and in the Real Property, Trust, and Estate Law Journal.
A native of Florence, Mr. Jepertinger earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Frances Marion University.
