Mr. Detwiler and Mr. English were both recognized last year as well.

Mr. Barnhill focuses his practice on real estate issues, including transactions, development and litigation. He’s also an experienced business attorney and probate lawyer, as well as a certified South Carolina Circuit Court Mediator.

Mr. English’s practice focuses on commercial real estate acquisition and development. He represents real estate developers in all aspects of their transactions. He also maintains a corporate practice, advising companies and their principals in a wide variety of business matters.

Mr. Tighe, the firm’s founding member, is a certified mediator and arbitrator and an experienced litigator. He has represented title insurers and their insureds, as well as lenders and major developers, in real estate-related litigation in state and federal courts in South Carolina, and in transactional matters throughout a career spanning more than six decades.

An experienced litigator, Mr. Detwiler has tried jury and non-jury cases at all levels of state and federal courts in South Carolina. He has practiced before the South Carolina Worker’s Compensation Commission for over 30 years, representing injured workers through the hearing and appellate process. He is the managing member of the firm.

“Legal Elite” has honored Callison Tighe attorneys in every edition since the first in 2010. The publication’s selection process begins with a nomination from a peer. A vote of active attorneys in the Midlands results in a Top 10 list in each of 20 practice areas.

The winners are highlighted in Columbia Business Monthly’s August edition and recognized at a reception.
