Callison Tighe celebrates 45th anniversary

COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA – It all began in 1971, when Mike Tighe left his position as assistant South Carolina attorney general to join Preston Callison’s practice. Their goal was to provide clients with the personal attention of a small firm plus the legal capabilities of a larger practice.

This year, as the firm celebrates its 45th anniversary, Callison Tighe looks back on a proud history and forward to a bright future that honors the its founders’ legacy.

Callison Tighe has expanded tremendously since its founding, growing into a full-service law firm providing clients with the service this complicated world often requires. Though the firm’s roots are in real estate and title insurance law, its attorneys now represent clients in a range of matters, including commercial finance, environmental and regulatory law, employment law, ERISA and employee benefits, workers’ compensation, probate and estate administration, alternative dispute resolution and more.

Yet, the values on which the firm was founded remain the guiding principles of each of the attorneys and all of the staff. Callison Tighe continues its commitment to providing clients with solutions tailored to meet their unique legal needs.

The firm’s size today allows attorneys to combine their skills and experience to tackle challenging legal issues. Its litigators have represented clients in complicated cases at all levels of courts in South Carolina and in the federal system, including the U.S. Supreme Court. Its business lawyers have managed complex commercial real estate, lending and development matters.

Through the years the firm has added practice areas to meet client needs. The newest practice area of Privacy, Data Protection and Information Security demonstrates that Callison Tighe continues to evolve as the world in which we live changes.

Callison Tighe also remains true to its roots, continuing to honor the founders’ commitment to personal service, cost-efficient solutions and custom strategies.
