Callison Tighe’s Brannon and Tighe named Lawyers of the Year by Best Lawyers
Of the 12 attorneys at Callison Tighe & Robinson recognized in the 2025 edition of The Best Lawyers in America®, two stand out in particular – Bert Brannon and Mike Tighe.
Both of them were awarded the top honor offered by the publication: Lawyer of the Year. That means they received the highest overall peer-feedback vote in the Columbia area in the practice areas of Business Organizations (including LLCs and Partnerships) and Litigation – Real Estate, respectively.
This is Mr. Brannon’s fourth time receiving this recognition. He was Lawyer of the Year for 2024 in the area of Trusts and Estates and in 2019 and 2022 for his work in Litigation – Trusts and Estates.
Mr. Tighe is receiving this honor after 53 years of distinguished practice, but it’s not his first time bearing the title. He was Lawyer of the Year in Real Estate in 2018, and for Real Estate – Litigation in 2015, 2017 and 2020.
Both have made the main Best Lawyers listing many times. This year, Mr. Brannon was also on that list for Litigation – Trusts and Estates, Tax Law, and Trusts and Estates. Mr. Tighe was also cited for his work in Real Estate Law.
Mr. Brannon’s practice focuses on estate planning and business succession planning, which often go hand in hand. He helps small business owners and families manage assets, utilizing wills, trusts, and family entities to minimize estate taxes. He handles probate and trust administration; choice of entity planning; taxation of estates and trusts and business entities; and corporate law.
Mr. Tighe was a co-founder of Callison Tighe & Robinson more than 50 years ago. He has represented lenders and major developers in real estate-related litigation and in transactional matters. He is frequently called upon to testify as an expert witness in real estate cases and has presented numerous seminars on the topic of real estate.
