RICHLAND LIBRARY EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR AWARDED BY LOCAL FAMILY

Reece and Nancy Williams, dedicated Richland Library supporters and Columbia residents, awarded Richland Library Executive Director, Melanie Huggins for her dynamic leadership. Accompanied by friends and Richland Library Friends and Foundation supporters, Rick and Nancy Layman, the Williams family presented Melanie with a trophy as a physical token of appreciation and recognition for her hard work, leadership and dedication to ensuring libraries in Richland County are a welcoming place for residents to learn, create, and share freely.

Huggins has been with Richland Library since 2009, overseeing a $59 million bond referendum to enhance 11 existing library facilities as well as the addition of two new library locations. Under her leadership, the library’s vision has been to enhance the quality of life for the entire community.
