Four attorneys with Callison Tighe & Robinson named as Super Lawyers

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Four Callison Tighe & Robinson attorneys have been recognized by South Carolina Super Lawyers® for 2022. They are Michael W. Tighe, Richard C. Detwiler, Demetri “Jim” Koutrakos, and Wm. Bert Brannon.

Mr. Tighe is named for his work in real estate, Mr. Detwiler for general litigation, Mr. Koutrakos for business litigation, and Mr. Brannon for estate and probate.

Mr. Tighe, a founding member of the firm, is a certified mediator and arbitrator and experienced litigator. He has represented title insurers and those they cover, as well as lenders and major developers, in real estate-related litigation in state and federal courts in South Carolina, and in transactional matters.

Mr. Detwiler, managing member, has served as a trial lawyer for more than 35 years. He practices in the areas of commercial litigation, serious personal injury, workplace accidents and probate and trust litigation. He is also certified as a Circuit Court Mediator by the South Carolina Supreme Court.

Mr. Koutrakos focuses his practice on litigating and resolving all types of real property disputes. He has handled over a thousand title insurance claims, including claims involving potential high exposure and major loss, bad faith claims, and litigation involving large title defects in commercial and resort properties. He also deals with commercial collections, general commercial litigation and appeals.

Mr. Brannon focuses his practice on advising clients on family wealth transfer matters. He also assists fiduciaries with complex estate and trust administration as well as taxation of estates and trusts.; and small business owners with choice of entity planning and business continuation planning.
