Columbia Business Monthly honors Demetri “Jim” K. Koutrakos to 2024 ‘Legal Elite’ list
COLUMBIA, S.C. – Columbia Business Monthly has named Callison Tighe & Robinson member Jim Koutrakos to its 2024 “Legal Elite of the Midlands” list.
Mr. Koutrakos was named in the practice area of real estate litigation.
“Legal Elite” honors Midlands lawyers considered by peers to be outstanding in their respective practice areas. The publication’s selection process begins with a nomination from a peer. A vote of all active attorneys in the Midlands results in a Top 10 list in each of 20 practice areas.
Mr. Koutrakos focuses his practice on litigating and resolving all types of real property disputes. His work includes title insurance litigation, real estate litigation, and foreclosure litigation. He has handled over a thousand title insurance claims, including major claims, bad faith claims, and litigation involving significant title defects in resort properties along the South Carolina coast. He also practices in the areas of commercial collections, general commercial litigation, and appeals.
He holds the Martindale-Hubbell’s AV Preeminent Peer Review Rating. He has received several other honors for his practice, from Best Lawyers in America, which named him Lawyer of the Year in real estate litigation in 2023, and recognized him in several other years, and South Carolina Super Lawyers. He also received the 2021 J. Lee McDonald Award for outstanding contributions to the Palmetto Land Title Association.
