Yani G. MouratevAssociate

A graduate of the University of South Carolina who long has called Columbia home, Yani leverages a diverse professional experience to secure solutions for his clients at Callison Tighe, whether a matter involves commercial real estate transactions or a dispute requiring litigation. Yani’s civil litigation practice includes real property disputes, title insurance litigation, commercial disputes, construction defects, wrongful death and survival actions, among other tortious claims. Whether inside or out of the courtroom, Yani’s primary goal is achieving efficient, positive outcomes for each of his clients.

Prior to joining Callison Tighe, Yani served as an Assistant Solicitor in the First Circuit Solicitor’s Office where he represented the State in numerous court proceedings. During law school, Yani interned with the Hon. Robert E. Hood of the 5th Judicial Circuit in Columbia, where he gained valuable exposure to a vast array of criminal and civil actions. Yani also clerked for Callison Tighe and Richard A. Harpootlian, P.A., where he took part in number of complex civil litigation matters including qui tam suits, deliberate indifference claims, zoning board appeals, wrongful death actions, false arrests and personal and catastrophic injury suits, among others. Yani previously worked for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Disaster Relief Team, and the 5th Circuit Public Defender’s Office.

Yani received his bachelor’s degree in English from the University of South Carolina, earning Dean’s List and President’s List honors. While pursuing his undergraduate degree, Yani worked in the insurance industry as an assistant underwriter who supervised and managed a multi-state coastal homeowners program.
