Freedom of Information (FOIA)
The South Carolina Freedom of Information Act, S.C. Code Ann. § 30-4-10 et. seq. provides the statutory framework by which private citizens may obtain information about the activities and decisions made by local governments and state agencies.
The Act is intended to make the operation of government more transparent and accountable.
